![]() "The thing about a 'comfort zone' is that it sounds, well, too comfortable. I call it a comfort pit, because a pit is somewhere you want to get out of as fast as possible." - Bear Grylls Every year I invite myself to try something new. Some of my recent endeavors include blogging, building a website, mountain biking and swimming. New experiences are exciting - at the same time terrifying and uncomfortable. We dare ourselves to move away from our familiar routine in return for a new possibility.
Getting out of our comfort zone is never easy. It takes courage, a fearless heart and an open-mind. When we step into the unfamiliar our world expands - we become more interesting; we gain confidence and a deeper understanding of ourselves and others; we learn what we are capable of. When I try something new, I get a rush of adrenaline, the feeling of butterflies in my stomach. I take a risk and put myself out there, not knowing what to expect. For me, the best part of trying something new is opening up to a new experience and learning more about myself along the way. Being a little uncomfortable has pushed me to reach new heights I never dreamed of. For a change - take a risk, switch things up and try something new:-)

I love this post. Being patient with peoples nonsense, waiting a little longer for people to go at a green light and working overtime to reach new goals all play a part in my experience of breaking through comfort zones.
