We are surrounded by color. Colors affect us in subtle ways. They can enhance our passions, lift our mood, spark our creativity and stimulate our senses. Color livens up our life.

The color red captures my attention instantly. I love this bold and daring color. When I think of the color red, I imagine a few things - apples, a cardinal, cherries, tomatoes, a ladybug, a stop sign, strawberries.

When I see red I feel energized and excited. This eye-catching color can be striking and soft - from scarlet and crimson to a subtle shade of coral. I love the earth tones of red too. The red-brown and indian-red shades remind me of the Grand Canyon and the Red Sand Beach in Hana, Hawaii. This rusty red color of the earth compels me to feel grounded and relaxed. What does the color red bring up for you?

I love the color red. For me, much like you describe Jess, it is a grounding and energizing color that makes me feel strong and daring.

While riding on my bike last evening I spotted a small little bird flirting about on the path. It's bright red color immediately caught my attention. I had an immediate reaction - the color was the first thing that drew me in and I remember thinking how lovely this bird was and I remember feeling happy and light - hearted and yes, there was an uplifting and energizing feeling as well.

Thank you for posting these pictures and your thoughts on the color red and reminding me how color can impacts our moods and feelings :)

Red is a power color to me. It is the color of tobasco sauce, chili peppers, stop signs and lipstick. All of these are powerful and have a huge impact. I see a lot of red in Vegas at the casinos. The color in this case seems to bring out the adventurous side in humans. I like red, but in moderation.
